These cone-shaped structures are made of bamboo, wood, and palm leaves. 2D/1N Wae Rebo Adventure is a chance to immerse yourself in the traditional culture of the Manggarai people. You'll have the opportunity to interact with the villagers, learn about their way of life, and witness their customs and rituals. Wae Rebo is nestled in the lush mountains of Flores, and the journey to the village involves a trek through the beautiful rainforest. The surrounding landscapes are breathtaking, with terraced rice fields and panoramic views of the hills and valleys. Meeting Point
Departure 8.30 am
Pick up from your hotel in Labuan Bajo and then get in AC car to Denge Village. Drive may take around 6-7 hours. Along the way, you’ll pass through beautiful landscapes and possibly stop at a few viewpoints to enjoy the scenery.
Lunch: 12.30- 1.00 pm. Plan to have a packed lunch or stop at a local restaurant along the way.
Arrive in Denge Village and then begin your trek to Wae Rebo. The hike to the village usually takes around 2-3 hours, along the track you will enjoy the panorama of rain forest. A local guide is recommended, as they can help you navigate the trail.
Upon arrival in Wae Rebo, you’ll be welcomed by the village chief. Settle into your traditional Mbaru Niang house, which is a unique cone-shaped communal structure. Interact with the locals, learn about their culture, and enjoy a traditional dinner prepared by your hosts. Take part in cultural activities if available, such as traditional dances or storytelling. Stay over night in traditional house.
Morning: Wake up early and enjoy a simple breakfast prepared by your hosts. It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the village’s daily life.
Explore Wae Rebo and its surroundings. You can take a guided tour of the village, learn about their traditions, and enjoy the stunning mountain views.
Begin your descent from Wae Rebo to Denge Village. Once you reach Denge Village, you may rest and refresh before heading back to Labuan Bajo. Stop at a local restaurant along the way for having lunch. Arrive in Labuan Bajo and back to your hotel
